Please note, it is your responsibility to make sure that your photo follows the guidelines below. The custom kit result greatly depends on the image provided.
Please avoid shadows in the photo you submit as it can alter the colours used in the paintings.
There arefour recommendationsto keep in mind when choosing your image for best results. These are:
✅ Image resolution/quality.
✅ Distance from the camera
✅ Good lighting
✅ Canvas size
1 - Image resolution/quality
The quality of your photo will greatly affect your custom painting result. The sharper your image is, the better!
➡️ Try the quick zoom test. If you can zoom in on your image and it remains sharp, you're good! ➡️ You can also check the image properties on your mobile or desktop. The higher more pixels, the better. Try to provide a photo with at least 1000x1000 pixels. If you don't know how to check your image resolution, here's a quick guide to do so on Windows and Mac.
2 - Distance from the camera
➡️ The closer the subject is to the camera, the more details we can capture. As a rule of thumb, the subject/s of the photo should take at least 70% of the pic.Face selfies will work best! Pleaseavoid far shots as they will have substantially less details.
➡️ It is also recommended that you pick aminimum of 36 colours. More colours means more accuracy when it comes to portraits. You can also go for 24 colours, but detail will be reduced accordingly.
3 - Pick a photo with neutral lighting
Light and shadows can impact your custom kit. You need to make sure that your photo has:
➡️ Good lighting. Choose images where the light is uniform across the subjects. ➡️ NO instense background light. The light should always come from the camera angle. ➡️ NO shadows on the skin.Shadows can completely change the color palette, creating dark patches. ➡️ NO color filters! The light should be completely natural. Rephrase from using tints such as yellow, blue, purple or green, which are very popular in social media or in some photography apps.
4 - Pick the right canvas size
This one seems like a no-brainer - the larger the canvas the more detail we can fit. We always recommend a minimum size of 16x20" (40x50cm) for portraits or any picture with a bit of complexity. If you pick the smallest 12x16" (30x40cm) canvas, the amount of detail will be reduced accordingly.
This is my first attempt at a paint by numbers artwork, so far it's taken 16 hours. I'm a perfectionist so am taking my time with the really intricate sections and am still perfecting using the brushes. I'm absolutely loving it though and am really pleased with how it's looking. Can't wait to complete it and hang it in my home office.
I found it very enjoyable to do just wishing that I had learnt to go over the same number a few times the first go around and not having to go back and find it because a lot of them needed a second and third coat to hide the numbers
Got around the edge of the painting canvas problem by just going around the corner to the edge on the other side of the canvas but overall very enjoyable my daughter loves it
Such a lovely art piece and the colours are striking. Cost is very reasonable for quality paint and canvas. Having the 'blueprint' of the colours is realy good for second coats and and missed spots.
Picture looks completely different to advertised product. Water colours are mustard and dark brown which makes it look like a murky swamp rather than a beautiful sunset. Very disappointed that this picture is nothing like the one on the website.
The colours are amazing but the only problem is that some of the paints aren’t thick enough to cover the numbers, no matter how many layers are painted. May I suggest an eraser to erase the numbers before painting or a thicker paint. As the problem is with the lighter colour paints. But overall from a distance you cannot see the numbers, but only do as you look at it closely. Thank you again and I will continue purchasing my paintings from your company.
I thoroughly enjoy the experience of painting colour by number.
It was relaxing and satisfying to c the end result after framing and hanging on the wall
I am absolutely loving my paint by numbers project. So simple to follow and a great gift for a friend. Plenty of paint pots and looks great so far, I’m nearly done and then I’ll get it framed, plenty of canvas for framing too. Just wonderful, I’m ordering another project. And it’s soothing relaxing fun. 😀🖌️Brun
This one turned out to be stunning! I've done a few so now I buy them unframed and paint the boarder. They look get. This one is particularly stunning.
I've done quite a few and love them. This one is ok but not my favourite. The dress needs to be more defined. Lots of undefined splotches. Stick to birds or flowers.
This was my son's choice. I don't usually like abstract paintings & decided to try to blend all of the body. Loved the outcome & so does everyone who's seen it.
This painting was great to start and stop in my spare time and the end result was so rewarding to have a painted portrait of my dog. The numbers were hard to see at times but with the pli sheet sent with it, I could work it out. Loved doing it!
